FAQ's

What is a lino print?

A lino print is a form of traditional printmaking where an image is hand-carved into a linoleum block, inked by hand, and then printed onto paper. Each design begins as an original illustration before being carefully carved and printed in my Surf Coast studio.

Are your surf prints handmade?

Yes. Every lino print is hand-carved and hand-printed by me in Torquay on Victoria's Surf Coast. This hands-on process means each print carries its own unique character and craftsmanship.

Is every print exactly the same?

No. Because each print is made by hand, there may be slight variations in ink coverage, texture, and detail. These subtle differences are part of what makes original lino prints special and unique.
So it may not look exactly as it does in the listing photos, but very similar.

Are your prints signed?

Yes. Each lino print is signed by hand.

Do your surf prints come framed?

Most prints are sold unframed unless otherwise stated. Please check the product description for framing details. If you wish to discuss framing options please get in touch at info@ahkiillustration.com

What sizes are available?

My lino prints are available in a range of sizes from A5 to A2. Available sizes are listed on each product page.
If you have a certain print you love but it isn't available in the size you are after, please get in touch: info@ahkiillustration.com

What is the difference between a lino print and a digital print?

A lino print is a handmade artwork created using a traditional printmaking process. Each design is carefully carved by hand into a lino block, then inked and printed onto paper by hand. Because of this process, every print has its own subtle variations and unique character.

A digital print, on the other hand, is produced by printing a digital image file using a printer. While digital prints can beautifully reproduce artwork, each copy is mechanically identical.

One of the things I love most about lino printing is the human touch involved in every stage of the process. From carving the block to rolling the ink and pulling each print, every piece reflects the craftsmanship and creativity of traditional printmaking. The result is an artwork that feels authentic, tactile, and truly one of a kind.
